Three-Month Tease
So now they'll whet our appetites for nearly three months with seizure-inducing, flash-shot trailers that you have to watch on "slow" with your TiVo to even see who is in them. Don't get me wrong, it gets me amped just to see the announcements that it's coming back and that it'll be here before we know it.
As all of you loyalists know, tomorrow the trailer will be revealed.... in Times Square, among other places. Normally, I'd be there in Times Square to see it (nothing like being in a touristy, crowded area while watching a show about terrorism) but I have to be in Boston this week for work. Such is life.
Once I get a glimpse of the trailer, I'll post some thoughts (perhaps a mini-review of sorts) and we can all play "Did you see that?"

I can't even begin to tell you just how long I have been looking forward to this trailer. I was surprised that they were going to be showing it in Times Square, but it makes sense considering an article in the most recent 24: The Magazine mentioned that part of season 6 might take place in New York.
And I quote, "Part of the new season will almost certainly be filmed in New York City - which would mark the first time our favorite show is filmed outside California. ... Executive producer Joel Surnow won't reveal specific plotlines, but the word is that action would start in another major north-east city, such as Chicago or Washington D.C., and then progress to NYC."
Kiefer Sutherland also revealed to The Guardian that in regards to his character, "We've had five years of him saving a large thing. This (season) much more about him saving his own ass. He'll go from being the one who hunts down people to the one who's being hunted."
The 24 Magazine article also mentions that IT guy Milo from the first season will return. Looks like we 24 fans have a lot to look forward to. I just hope that the writers can pull it off...
OMG just 18 hours left >_<
I'm going to hold my breath until then.

I've been pining for it being somewhere besides LA for several years... and I've always thought New York or DC would be perfect for a season or two. Aside from the obvious political realities, it's a lot more realistic to think terrorists would plot against one of those Eastern cities rather than Los Angeles.
Sigh, all of Jack's captivity will be reduced to a hour of backside story at best.
Trailer thoughts:
-- I appreciated the thanks that started things out. You welcome, Kief!
-- However, calling this an "Extended Trailer" is just plain wrong. Movie trailers are running several minutes these days and I think this one clocked in at a minute and a half. The mini-episode on the Season 4 DVD was 6 minutes I think and the preview trailer was 2 plus minutes.
-- I'm disappointed that the Chinese angle appears to be a relatively minor aspect of the story in the next season. Particularly with the North Korean situation, I would think there are all sorts of ways to take that situation in a new direction. Perhaps Jack redeems himself with the Chinese by helping them thwart a NK terrorist threat? I expect it would be prohibitive budget-wise to try to recreate China and/or N. Korea. Maybe a plot for the movie?
-- Read some buzz about Chloe and her "hot" new hair-do. Sorry guys, I'll never go for Chloe as a babe, no matter how much they primp her up. I love Ms. Rajskub as an actress though. She had a tiny little part in "Little Miss Sunshine." Did anyone see it?
-- Lots of explosions and gunplay. Can't argue with that. And Jack shouting something novel like "put down your weapon!" As the saying goes, got to play to your base. And as a member of the base, I'm certainly pumped!
-- Liked the snippet of the new prez saying that "this is going to get a lot worse." Nice to have another Prez Palmer. But might there be no Greg Itzhin this season? That's going to be a tough vacancy to fill...
-- The writers are going to have a really tough challenge making this season fresh and deliver a payoff in terms of surprises and depth. I'll be hoping for the best... (and in the meantime, geeking out on "Heroes." Love that show...)
Bah,Wayne Palmer as the president...anybody else thinks Bucanan might be a dead man walking this season?
